memphis in may

wow! well, wasn't this an interesting wknd! rain, wind, and tornadoes blew through the area while we were hanging by the river at tom lee park watching our favorite bands. friday night wasn't so bad bc it didn't rain too much until panic started and we watched the show from the stage so that wasn't an issue. sat. night - different story. i've been waiting a lifetime to see hall & oates (weird, i know, but i love them). they openend with 'man eater' and played one other song then abruptly they came out and said that we needed to evacuate the park immediately. so frustrating. i think i would have stayed out there and risked it just hear 'rich girl!' we tried to leave on sunday but got stuck due to the weather and flooding. I40 and I24 were closed...so there was no way we were getting back on sunday. we finally made it back on monday....many hrs. later...thanks to the backroads but we saw some pretty gnarly stuff on the way such as cars and even a bathtub in a tree. here are some pics of memphis in may...
